I have been lacemaking since the early 70s but discovered needlelace in the mid 80s. I attended a couple of workshops with Carol Williamson at the British College of Lace. Having had a longish break, I recently returned to needlelace a couple of years ago. I have taught needlelace for my local lace group which is where the idea of the 3-d flowers was created. I am in the process of developing different styles of 3-d petals for encouragement of students. I have also taught Tenerife lace and basic Carrickmacross lace. My favourite type needlelace is point de gaze although I have yet to perfect a piece that is good enough to photograph.
